Haunt or Hell Fest appear as honorable mentions here but they’re not currently on Tubi, but trust me, they remain two of the best haunt-set horror films out there. For now, let’s take a look at what is streaming — a mix of terrifying, grimy, and fun horror flicks that will get you in the Halloween spirit.
Extremity (2018)
This psychological horror follows a young woman searching for unconventional therapy after a lifetime of trauma. Her path leads her to an extreme haunt called Perdition — but what she finds there is far darker and more dangerous than she ever expected.
Extremity dives into the mindset of people drawn to these real-life “extreme haunts,” blurring the line between therapy and torture. It’s a dark, bleak film with flashes of brilliance, particularly in its portrayal of trauma and fear as performance. While it loses momentum toward the end, it’s still a fascinating watch for anyone intrigued by the psychology behind extreme horror experiences.
Talon Falls (2017)
A group of teenagers visit a backwoods haunt in Kentucky, only to realize that the gore and screams inside are real.
Filmed at the actual Talon Falls attraction, this one feels like a throwback to the early 2000s “torture porn” era — think Hostel or Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003). The acting is rough around the edges, but the kills are plentiful, the villains are intimidating (especially that pig-masked killer), and the whole thing oozes that grimy haunted-house energy.
If you just want to watch a bunch of teenagers get slaughtered in a haunted house — this one checks every box.
Haunted Trail (2021)
A group of friends head out for a fun night on a haunted trail… until a masked killer turns their night of frights into the real thing.
Directed by Robin Givens (yes, that Robin Givens), Haunted Trail leans into its authentic setting and delivers a fun, homegrown feel. You really get to experience each section of the haunt — from the costumes to the props — which makes it especially enjoyable for haunt fans.
The downside? Some of the characters are grating, especially one named Zay who won’t stop cracking jokes. Still, it’s a fun slasher that captures that “real haunted house” vibe perfectly.
Scary Movie (1991)
Before the parody franchise, there was this Scary Movie — a low-budget gem about a timid young man (played by John Hawkes, years before becoming a major actor) who visits a haunted house while a real killer is on the loose.
It’s simple, charming, and surprisingly funny thanks to Hawkes’ physical performance. The homemade quality gives it a nostalgic, local-haunt energy. There’s also a cool twist involving an escaped mental patient that adds an extra layer of tension. It’s equal parts horror and comedy — and Hawkes totally carries the film.
Fear, Inc. (2016)
A horror superfan signs up for an underground extreme haunt experience called Fear, Inc. — only to discover that he might have gotten more than he bargained for.

It’s one of those movies that makes you wish you could visit the haunt yourself — fake blood, bad acting, and all.
The Funhouse Massacre (2015)
A group of psychopaths take over a haunted attraction and unleash real carnage on unsuspecting guests.
This movie is wild — a sleazy, bloody, over-the-top ride that feels straight out of the early 2000s. The killers each have their own twisted backstories (kind of like 13 Ghosts), and the film balances outrageous gore with tongue-in-cheek humor.
It’s not perfect — it could have made better use of the haunt setting — but it’s endlessly entertaining for fans of grindhouse-style horror.
Haunt Season (2024)
This newer gem focuses on haunt workers during the final weeks of their season as a killer begins targeting them one by one.
What sets Haunt Season apart is its heart. These characters feel like real haunt employees — theater kids turned scream-makers who love what they do. The movie takes time to develop them, which makes the kills hit harder. The setting is an actual haunt, and the practical effects are impressive.
It’s a sweet, surprisingly emotional film about friendship, passion, and Halloween — with just enough blood to keep things creepy.
The Houses October Built (2014)
Five friends travel the U.S. in an RV searching for the scariest underground haunts — and unfortunately, they find exactly what they’re looking for.
This found-footage favorite perfectly captures the Halloween spirit. It mixes real haunt interviews with chilling fiction, making it feel disturbingly authentic. The eerie doll-masked antagonist is unforgettable, and the finale is downright haunting.
It’s one of my go-to Halloween watches every year — though skip the sequel if you can; it kind of spoils the magic.
Hell House LLC (2015)
The best of the bunch.
A group of friends transform an abandoned hotel into a Halloween haunt — but something sinister lurks inside, leading to tragedy on opening night. Told through a found-footage lens, Hell House LLC builds tension with subtle, background scares and an ever-growing sense of dread.
It’s minimalist but masterfully executed — the perfect mix of haunted house atmosphere and supernatural terror. The clown scenes alone will stick with you long after it’s over.
If you only watch one movie from this list on Halloween night, make it this one.

It’s a slick, energetic slasher that captures the thrill of being scared in public, surrounded by chaos and laughter. While it’s a bit predictable story-wise, the energy and atmosphere make it a must-watch for anyone who loves theme park horror.
